GGG is really excited to take the stage with these all-star musical improvisors on Saturday 5/5 for the finale show of our two day musical improv Jam-A-Rama!  Here’s the full list of performers:

with Amy Averett, Aden Kirschner, Sarah Marie Curry, Megan Flynn, and Cynthia Oelkers.

Ammon Taylor will be on the keyboard and Shana will direct the show. It is an epic musical narrative longform based on a format that Get Up played in in Amsterdam.

Admission is free for the show, but people can reserve their tickets in advance.  As part of the Jam-A-Rama, we are also hosting free musical improv workshops, jams, and a mixer show on Friday night. Pgraph and Confidence Men will be performing in the 8 pm Saturday slot.

7PM – Get a taste of improvised singing with this FREE improvised singing workshop presented by Girls Girls Girls Improvised Musical Comedy!

9:30PM – FREE Musical improv mixer. We are taking our audience, our workshop attendees and some of the most talented musical improvisers in Austin and hitting shuffle. Hosted by Albuquerque sister-act Petunia and Ronnie Applebottom you will be given the opportunity to be paired with a variety of folks to make up songs and dances on the spot! This is for the very experienced and the 100% noob alike! All are invited to participate!

Hey everybody!  Girls Girls Girls is super excited to announce the first ever Austin Musical Improv Jam-A-Rama! May 4th and 5th at the Salvage Vanguard Theater!

As part of our Kickstarter campaign last year we promised that we would bring back and share some of the wonderful knowledge that we gained during our participation in the Twin Cities Improv Festival (TCIF) and the New York Musical Improv Festival (NYMIF) =  So we will be giving a free musical improv workshop!

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

One of our biggest take-aways from our experience at NYMIF was that giant musical improv jams with participants from guest troupes, house students and audience members is explosively, joyously fun!  So we will also be hosting a musical improv jam for members of all theaters and audiences interested in throwing their name on the list.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

Musical Improv is taking Austin by storm right now!  There are classes being taught all over town, shows being produced in multiple theaters and guests flying in from out of town, all to bask in the warmth and smiles of making up songs on the spot!  To capitalize on this momentum, we wanted to create a showcase for musical improvisers and non-musical improv troupes who have always wanted to dip their toes in the musical improv pond. So this Jam-A-Rama will also have shows to watch! (please stay tuned for performer announcements)

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

We aren’t making a penny on any of it!  That’s right friends and fans, this whole two night extravaganza is going to cost 0$ for the price of admission!  These shows, jams and workshops will all be FREE, FREE, FREE!  It’s our way of saying thank you for being such a tremendous community and fabulous support for Girls Girls Girls.
